Welcome to the Joint 11th SELF INTERNATIONAL & 24TH ERAS CONFERENCE

It is with great pleasure that we invite you to the 2025 Joint 11th SELF International Conference and the 24th ERAS Conference which will be held from the 18th to 21st November 2025 in Singapore. The conference hosted by the International SELF Research Centre and the Educational Research Association of Singapore (ERAS) will be held at the Hwa Chong Institution.  

The International Global SELF Research Centre, is a virtual network with more than 700 members and satellite research centres at leading universities around the world. Its members include many of the world’s leading self and identity researchers.  SELF is directed by Professor Herbert W Marsh and headquartered at the Australian Catholic University’s Institute for Positive Psychology and Education (IPPE). 

The Educational Research Association of Singapore (ERAS) was established in 1986 as a non-profit organisation to promote the cause of educational excellence in Singapore and the region via the conduct, promotion and use of relevant educational research. 

The biennial SELF International Conference series is now entering its third decade as an international event and provides a unique forum to present and discuss cutting-edge research on self-theory, measurement, research and practice.  The SELF conferences bring together a wide array of speakers from all around the world addressing diverse areas such as goals, identity, motivation, self-concept, self-efficacy, self-regulation, self-determination and many more.  

The ERAS Conference 2025 aims to showcase progressive research across all aspects of education. As one of Singapore's premier education conferences, it seeks to bring together educational professionals from around the globe to exchange insights, share innovative solutions, and discuss the latest advancements and challenges in the field of education. 

This second collaboration between SELF and ERAS will take place at the Hwa Chong Institution, one of Singapore’s premier schools with a rich cultural heritage and a long-standing reputation for academic excellence, leadership development, active citizenry and a culture of service.  Originally founded in 1919 to provide quality education for the Chinese community, the school is the only school in Singapore to have a national monument on its campus.  With its prominence in Singapore’s cultural and educational history, Hwa Chong Institution provides the perfect setting for this international gathering of scholars.
